Welcome to Friends of Bay County Animal Rescue! We are a local group of volunteers that have come together to form a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization to assist Bay County and surrounding counties in reducing the number of animals taken to or euthanized by shelters. We work very hard to help get animals adopted that might otherwise not have a chance.
Prospective volunteers, foster parents, and adopters all must meet the criteria set forward by our group, in order to provide the best care for our animals. We also have guidelines that must be followed for safety of the volunteers and pets.
Due to the overpopulation of pets, spaying and neutering education is also a large focus for our group. Unfortunately, it is just not realistic to deem any shelter a no-kill shelter, because that isn't possible with the number of irresponsible pet owners that exist. Our goal in light of that, is to help decrease the pet population responsibly.
We will also work within the community to help pet owners that face taking their pets to Bay County Animal Control, or another animal shelter, by assisting them when possible and fostering and placing their animals in a new forever home, keeping their pet out of the shelter.
We assist with spays and neuters in the community as finances allow.
We have numerous programs in place such as Kritter Kupboard, a Pet Food Bank, Get Out Of Jail Sponsorships for pets, and also a Senior Citizen Pet Matching program.
Please join us in achieving our goals and allowing us to be successful in the community!
